The DeKalb County Youth Service Bureau (YSB) assists youth as they build healthy lives and relationship with their family, friends, and community.
YSB was founded in 1971, making it one of the oldest Youth Service Bureaus in Illinois. Through the years, YSB has developed a philosophy of networking with other community resources to solve youth problems and to develop programs to meet the needs of youth. The Bureau is a not-for-profit agency governed by a volunteer Board of Directors from throughout DeKalb County.
Over 40 Years of Service
To give you a short history lesson, YSB became a separate agency in 1971 after being a City of DeKalb Department since 1969. DCYSB was one of three initial youth service bureaus in Illinois.
Moving from a house on Franklin Street to an office on Fisk Avenue, YSB then moved into its current location at 330 Grove in May of 1978. YSB has acquired several grants and expanded its services over the years, but has always stayed focused on a basic mission of serving youth and families in DeKalb County.
SB offers the following services. Most services are offered on a sliding fee scale and can be adjusted to fit your financial situation. Please call 815-748-2010 for more information regarding fees.
